The Boj Apple

Boj breaks into dance on Fifth Avenue

After going underground for the winter, Boj made a triumphant return to the upside in downtown New York last week.

With the great and the good of the children’s media industry all meeting for their annual Kidscreen gathering, Boj couldn’t resist popping up to make some new friends.

And he’s now buddies with enough broadcasters to feel pretty confident of getting into production very soon on his first series.

So, watch this space… and watch out Giggly Park, cos it’s gonna get messy!

Boj: Now Available in Cannes!

It’s a good job Boj is happy making friends wherever he goes. Because this week he had to wow a whole new set of buddies – international broadcasters, who were at MIPJunior not only looking for a friend but also, we hope, a fabulous new preschool show in the shape of Boj & Buddies.

Popping up on the famous Croisette... "BOJ-TASTIQUE!"

The market was a great success. All the tremendous interest from TV channels around the globe will hopefully result in some serious offers. And if enough of them buy the show we’ll be on target to get into full series production next year.

And then… “The Fun Will Never End!”

Cartoon Forum 2011 – Sopot

Boj made plenty of new buddies at this years Cartoon Forum – held at the Polish seaside town of Sopot near Gdansk.

66 projects were being pitched to European broadcasters and other investors.  Everyone hoping their project will get funded and onto TV.

Luckily the Boj & Buddies presentation was on the first morning – so we didn’t have to wait nervously for too long!

Furry ears stayed vertical whilst David Hodgson, Claire Underwood and Dave Ingham gave the 30 minute presentation.

The BBC said lovely things at the end, as did Tom Van Waveren from Cake Entertainment – who won the cuddly Boj for most gushing praise!

The next few days were spent following up with broadcasters, distributors and possible co-production partners – as well as gorging on salami, gherkins and cabbage… mmmm!

Next event in Boj’s calendar is MIPJunior on the 2nd of October – where the show has been nominated for the Kids Jury Award.

Countdown to Cartoon Forum

Exactly a week to go until we pitch Boj & Buddies to the European broadcasters and investors at Cartoon Forum – which this year will be held in the Polish coastal resort of Sopot.

Claire has been busy ‘boj-ing’ together some furry props with the help of much wire and gaffer tape…

Whilst David met up with Jason Donovan to sign a fantastic give-away that we will be handing out for the most gushing comment at our presentation…

We also have had a cuddly Boj made – he’ll be stowing away in a suitcase for the trip!

So – if you are coming to Cartoon Forum then make sure you don’t miss all the fun at our presentation – Wednesday 10.40am in Room 1.

Jason and Boj - Now best buddies!

Boj’s new buddy… Jason

Jason Donovan and buddies in the studio

Look who’s just popped up to play Pops?! Yes, it’s Jason Donovan.

Boj’s new buddy was in the studio last week getting into his role… perfect casting for another lovable singer-songwriter and all-round good Aussie dad!

He also recorded the theme song, which thanks to Jason’s vox and “Mick’s mix” now officially ROCKS!

‘Let’s all have a picnic in the park!’

Cast and crew (& buddies) enjoyed a glorious Boj & Buddies screening and picnic to celebrate completing the pilot episode. The ‘Premiere’ was hosted in Kingston village (near Lewes in Sussex) so that all the wonderfully talent local schoolchildren, who voice the kids in the show, could walk the red carpet with their proud friends and families.

OK everyone, say "Boj-elicious!"

Boj and Hodge in Annecy 2011

Waiting for a friend (who eventually did pop up!)

‘Boj & buddies’ launched to a fanfare of digeridoos and ukuleles in Annecy, garnering a shed-load of positive vibes from our major presentation and many individual meetings.

So it’s true, Everybody Digs Boj, but who will prove to be his BBFs – Bestest Buddies Forever?… Time will tell!…
